Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, on his 65th birthday, has been given the title of Honorary Doctor of the Lomonosov Moscow State University. the rector of Moscow State University and head of the Russian Union of Rectors, Academician Victor Sadovnichy announced the university academic council’s decision to the head of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia yesterday, which is his 65th birthday, took part in a service with the heads of Orthodox Churches. Patriarch Kirill was born in 1946 in Leningrad into the family of the chief mechanic of the Kalinin factory, who later became a priest. The Patriarch’s grandfather on his father's side was also a priest, according to ITAR-TASS news agency.
