Conference on "The Christian Moses: From Philo to the Qur'an" – Call for Papers

The Catholic University of America's Center for the Study of Early Christianity will host a conference in Washington DC entitled "The Christian Moses:" The conference will investigate how early Christians (to the seventh century CE) used traditions associated with Moses. Jewish traditions, both antecedent and contemporary, especially important for an understanding of the Christian use, will also be explored, as well as Qur’anic and other early Islamic references to Moses, which will be relevant to an understanding of the topic. 

The conference will have a single-session format to encourage maximum interaction among all participants: speakers, local and visiting scholars, and graduate students. 

The deadline for submission of papers is 31 December 2011.
